Washington D.C.
In early 2019, construction began on the fifth Elcielo restaurant in Washington D.C., which will be ready in January 2020 for its official opening. It is located in a preferential location in La Cosecha in the Union Market District, a real estate project of EDENS who are leading the project and are allies of the Barrientos family in this project.
La Cosecha is a gourmet food and business center of Hispanic-American origin located in northeast Washington, D.C. EDENS. Its real estate developer, is a national retailer that among many other things, owns several stores of Whole Foods Market Inc which is a supermarket chain that specializes in selling organic products.
The restaurant will have 160 seats, and will be divided into two sections: one a la carte to the best model of Elcielo Classic at the Intercontinental Hotel in Medellin, with the same creative work of the elcielo workshop but with a more casual and comfortable athmosphere and menu. The back part will be a fine dining and will offer several tasting menus that are Elcielo's signature cuisine such as La Experiencia, La visita or El pesquetariano.
